April 27th is Mrs. Webb’s last day, maternity leave begins, baby girl is due May 15th. Ms. Vosburg is going to be subbing April 30-May 2 and Ms. DeJonge will be in May 3-June 8th. Both substitutes are OV grads and have excellent backgrounds.
Upcoming Field Trip:
We are taking a field trip to White Pine Village in Ludington on May 24th. Since there is a cost to this field trip we wanted to give advance notice for parents to be able to plan for the $6 admission fee.
Students must bring a disposable sack lunch and drink or order a sack lunch from the kitchen. Students need to dress in play clothes and shoes because we will be doing a lot of walking. Chaperones are welcome to attend. They must also pay the $6 admission fee. There will be a limited number of chaperones able to ride the bus (4). I will fill the bus based on first come, first serve basis. All others will have to drive. Please contact me ASAP if you’d like to chaperone. THANKS!!
Fun Friday
Friday, April 27th is class color day. Our class color is GREEN! Don’t forget to wear GREEN next Friday!
Pasta for Pennies:
The Pasta for Pennies collection ends April 25th
Bonnie Cabbage Company:
Cabbage plants went home Tuesday. The plants are donated by the Bonnie Cabbage Company. In third grade, students study plants in science and the things they need to survive. Bonnie Plants supports our effort to encourage a love of gardening and nature. Please plant this cabbage in your garden. When it reaches maturity, take a photo of the cabbage and student together. Send the picture in to me (a digital copy is best). Bonnie Plants will award a $1,000 scholarship to one student from each state. Last year, my third grade student, Alex Andrews WON! The deadline is September 10th. If you have questions, please call.

Cardinals Can:
On May 8th & 9th students will participate in the “Cardinals Can” fundraiser for our PTO. Our goal, along with fundraising is to promote fitness and endurance as students run, jog, or walk the track. Students will receive a pledge sheet and are asked to collect donations for the laps they complete. Prizes will be awarded based on most pledges earned and most laps completed. Last year, we raised over $2,000 and ran over 6,700 laps!
Pennies for Patients
The collection starts today and will end on April 25th. Each student was given a personal collection box. Students may reuse their personal collection boxes until the final collection day on the 25th. The winning classroom will receive a lunch provided by the Olive Garden.
