Field Trip:
Indianapolis Opera: Jack and the Beanstalk
Monday, March 26th
Sorry, no chaperones due to limited space.
This is a free trip for students.
We will be back in time for lunch.

Fun Friday:
Next Friday, March 30th is Jersey Day! Wear your favorite sports team! Professional and recreational leagues count!

Spring Concert:
Don’t forget: our Spring Concert is Wednesday, March 28th at 6pm in the Cardinal Elementary Auditorium. Students are to report to Mrs. Holman’s room by 5:45pm. If you are unable to attend the concert or give your child a ride to the concert, please call or write me. I am willing, with your permission, to provide transportation for your child. I want to make sure that every student has an opportunity to perform. They have worked VERY HARD on this performance and it is important that everyone is there.

I would recommend that your student is dressed to impress for the concert. I suggest girls wear a skirt, dress, or dress pants. Boys would be appropriate in a button down shirt and slacks. Think about what you would wear to church or to a wedding and that would be appropriate. Please, no graphic tees or shirts with writing on them. THANKS!

WEEK 25

NO READING HW THIS WEEK!

The Printer
We will not have a spelling test or selection test next week due to a very busy schedule. The spelling words listed on this sheet and that were sent home today are for the week of 3-26. I am sending them home early for an extra week of practice.
Tuesday, 20th-Child Abuse Council
Wednesday, 21st–Lumberjack Readers
Thursday, 22nd-Revue Show at the HS
Thursday & Friday, 22-23-Music Rehearsal

Black Out Night:
Turn off TVs and Video Games and READ Tuesday, March 19th for prizes!

Fun Friday:
Next Friday, March 23rd is Dress Up Day! Wear your fancy clothes!

Just so we are all clear, I would like to outline the expectations for RAH.
It is starting to get very sloppy. I discussed the following on Friday with
all students so they too know what is expected of them:
All RAH is to be done in cursive—that includes the titles.
Name, date, title, and a 3 sentence SUMMARY are required—no copying directly from the book. That is plagiarism and it’s illegal! I will recommend any student doing that be pink slipped.
A parent signature is required. Only one per week—not bad as compared to daily. A parent signature certifies that the RAH has been reviewed and is acceptable.
One 20 minute RAH is to be done each day, for 5 days. Not several 20 minute RAHs in one day. That is too much and defeats the whole purpose of daily reading.

WEEK 24

Arts Night and Wendy Miller Parent Night is March 15th

Spring Musical:
Wednesday, March 28th @ 6:00p.m.
(students are to report to Mrs. Holman's room at 5:45) .
Each child has a speaking part for this concert, in addition to the singing that all of the classes will perform. The part does not need to be memorized, but it does need to be rehearsed at home. Also, I am sending home the lyrics to the songs of the program. Please practice these along with your child’s speaking part.

Black Out Nights:
Turn off TVs and Video Games and READ March 6th, 15th, and 19th for prizes! More info to come
!

Fun Friday:
Next Friday, March 9th is “Wear Your Words Day!”

Whitecaps:
This is an incentive-based reading program that gives your child the opportunity to improve his/her reading skills and “Ride the Tide” to earn TWO FREE tickets to any Whitecaps home game from Opening Day, Monday April 9th through Friday, June 9th.
Read 600 minutes during the month of March ( at least 3 RAHS)
Entirely fill out your RAH including cursive, chapter books, 3 or more sentences, and turn it in ON TIME! That means FRIDAY!
Mrs. Webb will keep track with a baseball bookmark . That’s it!

Keep practicing those multiplication facts! Again, I will test immediately after Spring Break for a PIZZA PARTY!
