The class from each grade level that collects the most items from November 14th to December 9th will receive a pizza party from Mrs. Snow! Please clean out your pantry and start a collection of food items to help families in our district! My class won last year...can we do it this year? So far, we have 140 canned food items to donate! We are the top class in the whole school! The students in our class set a goal of collecting 400 items. If each student brought in 17-18 items we would reach our goal. Thank you to the families that have donated. Your generosity will be spread to needy families in our community/district. If our class reaches their 400 class goal, whether they win the pizza party or not, I promised them a movie day!

Lumberjack AR Incentives:
Each child has a four week goal for earning a particular amount of Accelerated Reader points. What is AR? AR is a program here at school that encourages students to read books and take an associated comprehension quiz. When students finish reading a book, they may take the quiz that goes with it. Each quiz is worth a certain amount of points. The higher the level of book, the higher amount of points can be earned. The Muskegon Lumberjacks has partnered with our school to encourage students to participate in AR. We will have a Lumberjack come to our school and visit on November 28th! The players are even going to pass out prizes! Our first AR goal period to win a Lumberjack pencil is October 31st-Nov 28th. Any student that reaches their personal goal in that time period will earn the Lumberjack pencil. Personal goals are 7, 5, or 3 points depending on reading level. Please remind your students of this goal!
